Many thanks to Brint and the reunion committees that brought us together for a perfect 50th reunion.  All of the activities were spot on.

Hopefully, we can have a 70th Birthday Party in two years.  Maybe just hire a restaurant private room someplace like Perry's or a club, and let them do the planning, serving and cash bartending for all of us to enjoy..............possibly adding in a golf and museum outing or two.  Just a thought to further outsource most of the work load.

I ditto Halsey that "Killers of the Flower Moon" is a good read.  Don't be put off by the author's style in the first chapter.  He quickly smooths out.

Warmest regards to all.

Oh, my, was it really 50 years ago that we all graduated?  Lots of time, happiness, sadness, hopes, and dreams have come and gone, but we all have the very same memories of our high school days.  We can come back to our reunions and relive the simple times when we were young and had no idea what lay before us. It is wonderful to see everyone, and, boy, didn't we all look great?  We have lived very full and very different lives, but high school is what connects us all together forever. I want to thank everyone who has worked over the last fifty years to keep us traveling back to a wonderful world of memories.  You all were leaders in high school and are our leaders and heroes today.  It is impossible to express the gratitude I have for the committees that are committed to the class of 1967.  Your inexhaustible energy to do what you all have done is overwhelming.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

A book to read:   "Killers of the Flower Moon" by David Grann About the Osage murders and the birth of the FBI. Osage County (adjacent to Tulsa County) in the 1920's had the richest people per capita in the world because of oil.  All were members of the Osage Indian Nation.  True story about Indians being killed for their oil royalties.

Hi Sandra,Thanks so much for a wonderful job! The parties were all great. Kent and I had a great time. I haven't brought him since the 10th - won't go without him again. I would have hated to miss out on dancing to that fabulous band! They sounded just like the real artists - many kudos to you and the committee for the planning you did. A huge, heartfelt thank you to all the members of the Class of 1967 Reunion Committee for your hard work to make the 45th reunion such a roaring success! It was a stellar event with a good turnout, good food and superb entertainment -- Midlife Crisis rocked the house. It was so great to catch up with so many wonderful classmates, but there are so many more I wish had attended. So, I'm calling on all classmates to do everything you can to make it to the 50th reunion in 2017. Sterling McDonald has already committed he and I to sitting in with the band to ressurrect "The New Intruders" garage band. We have 5 years to practice. Chairman Brint Lang and his multi-talented Sr. VPs Elaine Elsloo Dodd, Sandra Wright Wylie, Anne Walton Hewgley and Ira Smith will give us the best reunion Tulsa has ever seen. (No pressure).

Dear Classmates,
Thank you for much for your acts of remembrance upon the death of my Mother, Betty Elsloo.  Your phone calls, cards, emails and attendance at Mother's Memorial Service have been so welcomed and very much appreciated.
Looking back, I am so pleased that Mother was able to attend our Class Assembly at Memorial for our 40th reunion.  She so enjoyed that event and loved being updated on the activities of our upcoming 45th!
We are a class second to none and I treasure the friendships that have endured all these many years.

OMG! It can't be 45 years since I've seen many of you! I'm still 19 and it was just last year that we were getting ready for the prom. Why did you guys leave me behind? Steve Suttle, president of sigma omega beta, where did your hair go and why did you have to leave Oklahoma? At least you come back to celebrate.  And Rick Nowlin, Walt Highfil, David K Smith, I don't see you in any of these photos either. Maybe they are still 19 too.  What ever happened to "gentleman Joe Wheeler" auto shop teacher? Looks like we lost our flag football "black panther" leader, Mike Comfort to the Cong. They took a good friend that day. We could never put a better team together than those black panthers.  Elaine, you still haven't told me why you wouldn't go out with me!  Where did Carol Cloninger go? Her dad probably still thinks I escaped from Vinita. I don't blame him, I'm lucky they didn't send me there anyway.  Doug, you big "jock" are you as funny as you ever were? Everyone liked you!
Well, I'm running out of hot air, maybe I got a little older than I think.  I'll put you on my bucket list and maybe suprise a few people one of these days.  Love to ALL of you. Earl

IN MEMORY OF RANDY JUDD - I can't tell you how much that saddens me. Each year I try to reach out to a friend or two that I've lost track of while stumbling through life.  Generally I do this around the Holidays, but our last reunion provided an additional excuse to expand my reach to a few others.  Randy was one of the "lucky ones" (hah) to be the object of my connection.  You, along with many others, were Randy's friend during our high school years.  He was a very good friend of mine.  We did a lot of growing up together, being regular fixtures in each other's homes.  Randy's father, Jack, was an x-college football player, turned cigar chewing oilfield equipment salesman, executive and entrepreneur.  His mother, Bunny? (Mrs. Judd to me) was an elegant manager of the family and home, much like Harriet Nelson.  Jacqueline was the punk little sis.  LeAnne Turner and Susan Gullick Lang lived across the street from Randy.  Julie Jones Kelly, Reg Rowe's steady that occupied the back seat of my car until Reg was of driving age, lived just around the corner. Randy and I shared many interests together.  He was an accomplished drummer, so we formed a rock band together with me on lead guitar.  Reg often filled in on rhythm, Craig Tub played bass and Randy Kennedy was one of our lead singers.  Judd and I liked cars, girls and a raucous time.  As captain, I recruited Randy to our bowling team that, with his help, consistently placed us as league champs.  We advanced two times to City and once to State….............what a pair of jocks.  So, in 2007, I was pleased to receive Randy's response to my email.  We reminisced, laughed and shared sorrow for the passing of Jack, Randy's mother and mine.  I learned of Randy's success in following his father's entrepreneurial footsteps, having acquired a company and expanding it 275 employees.  And his challenges with diabetes………….I now surmise as the likely root cause of his death.   We made a commitment that day to meet up at the reunion, only a few months away.  Unfortunately, that didn't happen.  Brint Lang reported that Randy had his hands full with moving to a new home over that weekend. So, I leave you with some of the silly things I remember of Randy: At a traffic light, sticking his head out of his Skylark convertible, telling the world "I like the way it handles" (mimicking the Buick ads of the day). Participating in how many folks and coolers of illicit drinks we could sneak in the drive-in via the trunk. His response to surprise: "Good Lord". The desert boot kid. I've always wanted to own a pair of desert boots.  Every time I see them, I think of Randy. Maybe I'll show up at the funeral wearing some in his honor.  Of course, they would have to be properly paired with fresh blue jeans, a button down and a golf sweater.  Obviously not funeral attire, but what the heck.

I  wish I could be with all y'all this weekend for the holiday gathering. It's always so nice to see everyone. All of these events have been very special to me. I do plan on joining you in '12 for the reunion.
Nothing exciting here in the Land of Enchantment. I did retire in March and so far have managed to fill the time nicely. You should see my backyard! And, I've become one of those old geezers who drives around with his dog on the front seat. Sometimes I surprise myself.
I've done several more plays this year and have another show going up in January. I'm learing an Irish brogue - great fun indeed.
I was saddened to hear of Col Bays' passing. I know I was the biggest pain in his neck (or lower regions) during our senior year. I must say he was always gracious to me in later years and showed sincere interest in my career. Our paths crossed several times at the Okla. Legislature. I think he was always amusedly surprised that I was gradutated from OU Law School instead of Okmulgee Tech.
Best to all this holiday season. Have a safe and happy new year.

Hello again to the Chargers and all ships at sea. This is just a quick note to wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year.
As related elsewhere, I've taken up acting again (for reasons still unclear to me). Anne Walton, Elaine Elsloo , and Sandy Wright happened to be in Santa Fe one weekend in November and came down to Albuquerque for one of the performances. They were very gracious in their praise on these page', I was carried through the whole show by two extraordinarily talented actresses!
I have another play opening February 19th (Prelude to a Kiss). We started rehearsals tonight. You can't imagine how many times I think about Mr. Hamilton and all the others who participated in MHS theater. I'm not sure if I'm more surprised by all I remember or all I'd forgotten!
I'm still on the air on KRKE. If you're so inclined you can listen at your computer. The web address is realoldies1600.com. We only play 50s and 60s rock
n' roll and if I do say so myself, the station has a great sound, quite reminiscent of KAKC.
Since last I visited with you, I've been to San Francisco for yet another silent film festival and had a lovely breakfast at John Bolin's beautiful and historic home - good company, great food and a stunning view of the Pacific.
I also spoke with Terri Beisel the other day and was thrilled to find out she's recovering from her bout with cancer. I know many of us have had health problems (and certainly many more will), but if we all adopt her upbeat attitude, it's possible many of us will be around for that big reunion in 2047.
Best to all, always. If the old AT&SF brings you out West, give me a holler.
Steve

PS Oh, yeah. I almost forgot - retirement March 19th!

As most of you know, I have been in Arizona since mid March and am scheduled to return home in mid April. Jim is scheduled to arrive Wed. April 8 to drive home with me.

Today is my 60th birthday, and I knew that I would spend it here in Tucson by myself or with my aunt. 60 is an interesting mile marker so I have had a mixed bag of feelings about it.

On Friday I was waiting for someone to deliver some chairs. I had waited most of the day and was getting impatient because she was late. Sassy, my dog, barked at the front door and I looked up to see Jim and our best friends from Omaha standing at the door. They flew out to spend my birthday with me!!! They made a bet that I would cry and I did NOT disappoint them.
What an awesome gift! Jim made arrangements for us to go to a great Mexican restaurant on Friday night, a round of golf and a grand dinner out on Saturday.

Not only all of that, Jim gave me my own star in the heavens through the International Star Registry (many more tears!). It is located in the Aries constellation and visible by telescope.

Jim returned home today for work obligations but will return on Wed as planned. I am so incredibly lucky and blessed to have him as my best friend, soul mate and spouse.

This is my most excellent birthday with the most incredible gift(s) ever!

Anne,

You and many of the Tulsa graduates should be commended on the oraganization of the reunion parties and gatherings. I have not returned to Tulsa since leaving in 1971, I'm sure it's changed greatly. I did enjoy seeing the 1967 yearbook photos, I was surprised how many people I remembered. I've been married for 18 years (first marriage) and have a successful financial advisory firm-we have a wonderful life. I hope to get back to Tulsa some day and see many of my old classmates. I just turned 60 but no thought of retirement, I would not know what to do with myself.

Just a note to say that I hope all is well with everyone and that I hope to be at the 60th birthday bash in July. Speaking of which, yesterday (April 4th) was my 60th.
After 5 heart attacks, open-heart surgery, and a bout with cancer, it's a little hard for me to believe that "at last the day has came." (Casablanca, 1942). My health has been steadily good the past few years, however, for which I am grateful.
This empty-nest thing is working pretty well. Our daughter, Tovah, got her master's in theater at ACT in San Francisco last year. Now she's in New York with a SAG card and an Actor's Equity card, beating the boards, going to auditions and living on part-time jobs. A true actress. Thank heavens she worked at Baskin-Robins in high school. An actor needs those food service skills!
On the work front, I have 11 months, 15 days (but who's counting) to go before I retire from the New Mexico Attorney General's office. Thirty-five years as a prosecutor is quite enough, thank you. I got kicked upstairs a couple of years ago and now serve as special counsel to the attorney general on criminal law matters. This position brings me into frequent contact with our delightful governor, Bill Richardson (remember him?) and inevitably leads to long and thoughtful discussions about ---- baseball. We're both big fans.
After 13 years, Big 98.5 changed its format and laid off the entire air staff in February. I was quite shocked, frankly, but that is the way of the broadcasting world. Anyway, I ended up on a delightful little AM station that only plays 50s & 60s oldies. It's a blast!
I am still fooling around with old cars. We have two Model T Fords in the stable and a wonderful old VW beetle. Additionally, my lifetime passion for movies has somehow "morphed" into an interest in the silent film era. Be careful NOT to ask me about Clara Bow, Douglas Fairbanks, Colleen Moore, D. W. Griffith, or Harold Lloyd this summer! I am contemplating getting a master's degree in film history when I do retire. Maybe at USC or UCLA, but given the economic meltdown, this may no longer be possible (All that Ford Motor stock and Fannie Mae bonds, you know).
My, but I am loquacious this morning. I hope all is well and this finds everyone in good health and in a good place. Our last reunion solidified my belief that old friends, even those with whom you have only occasional contact, are still the best friends.
My best to you all, always.
Steve

Chargers:
I had a nice breakfast yesterday morning in San Francisco with John Bolin.  We had a very nice time catching up, reminiscing about Memorial, Mike Comfort, Sandy Locasso (and others) and general discussions about teenage angst, Vietnam, those heady days of the late 60s and, of course, our mutual radical, liberal views of current national politics.
John told me that he really enjoyed the reunion, seeing everyone, and comparing life choices and paths. He said that he wished he'd come back sooner.
I neglected to mention the proposed 60th birthday party to him, but I will.
I know we'd all enjoy seeing John again.

What a gas - Karen and I had a great time and want to thank you again - along with the committee - for all the effort!  I hope you agree that it was worth it.   It was too bad some of our local classmates (Bitner, Judd, Carman, et all) did not make it. I hope the committee can email those who attended (plus those who did not) and ask that they complete the information questionnaire - the red book was one of the highlights - there's no way to have conversation with everyone - so the book was a wonderful update on classmates.  I still feel a question about hobbies, interests, etc. (other than work of family) would be interesting.  I think Annie will be a great chairperson.  Thanks Again  Jim Buchan

I have to say what a great time I had at the reunion. I have been to all 4 so far, and they keep getting better and better.  Our classmates are the best ever!  I feel fortunate and blessed to have been a part of the Memorial High School Class of 1967!  Thanks so much for all your hard work-I do appreciate it!  Ann Foster Springer

Thanks to the committee for all the hard work.  My husband and I enjoyed Friday evening very much.

I would like to suggest to the 2012 committee to make a "vacation" out of the reunion and have it in New Mexico or Colorado.  There seem to be a number of Chargers in that area.

Take care.  If anyone wants to come to Phoenix for the Super Bowl, we have a room!

The reunion was a tremendous experience for me.  I loved seeing you all and it is wonderful to know that I have OLD friends from Boy Scouts, Southminster, and Memorial to visit with when I come back and to be lifelong friends as we all head into retirement some day.

LOVE TO YOU ALL.

Elaine, Ira, everyone on the planning committee - I heard that the reunion was so much fun.  Thank you for spending all that time and energy.  I wish I had been able to be there -- a couple of  my children came to OKC, and we went to the OU/OSU game and celebrated Thanksgiving.  My fondest thoughts were with you all.  LeAnne

I was also so excited to see that Edie Irons attended, and MAY attend our reunion! She was one of my sorority sisters in college and I had no idea that she ever attended Memoial! My parents also moved to California, but directly following graduation. They lived in Hesperia, then, moved to Ft.Walton Beach, FL, for a year or so, before transferring to Germany for some time, while I remained in university. It will be refreshing to find my way around the town with my recently retired husband, Robert. Together, we have 5 grown children and 8 grandchildren. We flew in on Thanksgiving eve, missing the usual feast at Grama and Grampa's house (ours), leaving it in the capable hands of our youngest who is home from college. We will be happy to see all at the events, assuming we are not navigationally challenged.!! See you soon, and "GO chargers (& Chargerettes)"  775-742-1219 cell 775-355-1090 home

Here it is...Reunion "eve" and Thanksgiving 2007...all at the same time...and I tried to go by  and see old friends who may have traveled into town by now for the reunion....Gayle O'Neal...who won't be in until tomorrow....and I talked to my sister, Susie, who also won't be in until tomorrow.... and went by Marge Creager's house...who was about to sit down and celebrate the holidays with her family late in the day......but I wanted to tell you all how excited I am to see all of you as you start to trickle into the Elks Lodge to register tommorrow.   I skimmed thru our '67 yearbook and I'm so excited to see everyone who's coming.  CU Soon !!!

Practically all of you visiting this site have already heard from me by e-mail and/or phone. In the year & half since we commenced this process, many of you have helped with your suggestions & helped us find "LOST" classmates, which we appreciate. The goal: Our 40-Year Reunion is now in sight! Please make every attempt to join us for this fabulous event, even if you can only make it one of the days. You'll love what we have planned, plus some surprises! If you can help us find more from our LOST in "Lost & Found," please do. We want no one to miss our reunion, because we didn't notify them. Thanks again to everyone! Ira

Received a couple of recent phone messages from Ira, and I appreciate the effort and the information. Subsequently, I went to the website and thoroughly enjoyed a trip into the past. I've been so far removed from Tulsa and that part of my life for so many years (I've only been back to Tulsa for one night since 1967), that browsing the site was quite a jolt. Please continue your good work, and "thanks Ira", for tracking me down! Best Wishes Bruce

Do you have some ideas for song dedications on Friday night with the DJ? (no revenge motives allowed!) Do you want to humiliate yourself at the school assembly after sinking your teeth into those famous cinnamon rolls? Are you packing your memorabilia for display at the Elks? After high school--it's all posthumous! Please join us for this weekend of memories. Go Chargers! Elaine

To be honest, I haven't been paying a lot of attention to all the announcements of late regarding the reunion.. however, I just went to the web site and I am genuinely impressed. It brings back a lot of memories; some good and some bad. I got to say it was remorseful to see those classmates that are no longer with us that I used to party with. I get back to Tulsa on occasion and have seen Elaine at the church that I use to attend as a youth. More recently, I came back for my bother's funeral service and given that he was only 5 yeas older than me, it gives pause and reflection of our own mortality. I hope to join you guys in the next planing session at the 19th hole. I can remember going there every other day with Bob Crowe in his '67 Chevelle, which I have a fully restored convertible model to this day. One last note, I was originaly planning to come to see the Tulsarama unveiling of the '57 Plymouth. I was actually there and there is an archive photo showing me sitting on my Dad's shoulders watching them put the "rust bucket " into the ground. It will be great to see where we all have been since our graduation. Brad

I am very excited about this event. I was one of the Exxon (then Humble Oil) evacuees in the senior year and thank you so much for including me. Several of us were with that evacuation and we all went to the same school in Houston, ironically, Memorial High. But it was in the real good part of town and very snobbish. I've never been to a reunion before as a result. I am a retired band director- that's right, I never quit band-- and had a very successful career, leading 5A Conroe high School during the '90's. But now I'm into technology and run a student operated TV studio which broadcasts to the school daily and will this year broadcast over the internet worldwide! I still play with a rhythm and blues band for weddings and happy divorces, and also direct the choir at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in The Woodlands, Tx. I can't wait to see you guys! Dave

We have 471 people listed on our classmate list...which includes some that did not graduate with us for various reasons, but that we went to school with them in Jr High or part of high school before they moved away, etc. We have 30 classmates, that we know of, that have passed on. As of May 26, 2007, we have 239 confirmed...that is, the reunion committee has current contact information for those classmates. That leaves 202 for whom we cannot confirm current information. If you are one of those...or have the current info on any of those classmates...please contact us so that we can remove you/them from the "missing" list.

If nothing else, just come see us! (c'mon Phyllis!) The Committee has been really creative so make your registration, dust off your dancing shoes, get out your yearbook, and come to the 40th!

Sorry I haven't been there with you so far but you've done such a great job it would be tacky of me to hook up at this late date. This is going to be the best reunion ever!

I was so surprised when Sandy Wright called me at work and then I remembered I was working at the same job ten years ago!!! I'm pleased to see so many dedicated and energetic people willing to serve on the reunion committee. The web sit is an excellent idea!! I enjoyed the pics immensely and was able to identify almost every one of you. I am not sure what I could accomplish here in OKC, as my contacts are limited. I see Barry Davis occasionally and keep up with Phyllis Allton (Tulsa) and Linda Hill Herbert (New Orleans) through e-mail and that's about it. I am really looking forward to catching up with so many others, Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Hello to all Memorial '67 Chargers. Here we are again ready for another reunion! However, this one will be the best by far. We have planned some extraordinary new things for our three day weekend together! I am looking forward to seeing every one again and possibly ones that have not been to our reunions before. It's a great time to be had by all! I encourage everyone to send in your registration as soon as possible. (We need your money! LOL) The photobooth that will be provided during the reunion will give you the chance to take pictures with other classmates or whomever! It's going to be FREE to everyone there. So, hurry up and plan to attend our 40th! I look forward to seeing everyone there. Jeannie Lunger Reed

How about this: I look younger, as well as feel younger, without any help from certain doctors... Meanwhile, I'm adding my encouragement for everyone of our classmates to seriously consider joining us for our 40-Year Reunion. What happened to all the inflation? Our Reunion ticket prices are the same as ten years ago! No excuses - Join us for more activities for the same reunion bucks - GO CHARGERS!!!
